CorelTrace

As I promised in my earlier post, I am sharing you to how to deal with the pen tool in CorelDraw. The basic tracing method is same as one can do tracing with Illustrator (by placing a reference image in the background and then outlining the objects) but the difference in the CorelDraw is the pen tool. Here I have found one way to deal with this tool. Note that I am not going to tell you the complete process of doing the tracing but telling you the pen tool behavior also not that there could be other way to do the same but I am sharing what I have found is best, fast and simple if you know any other easiest way then please share with me and others by commenting.

Step1: So start by placing your sketch in the background (better to use the ‘Object Manager’ for better control over your artwork).

Step2: Using the pen tool start outlining a rough shape of your target object. Close your path by coming back from where you have started.

Step3: The movement you finish click on Shape tool or Press F10 Key. Then press CTRL+A to select all the nodes of your object. While the nodes are selected click on Convert line to curve button in your property.

Step4: Now comes the fun part with the help of mouse give the line the shape you want. Later you can adjust your line more with anchors by clicking on nodes with shape tool.

Step5: Finish the shape and fill the colors you want, create other objects and complete the artwork. Remember again that Object Manger is highly useful for complex artwork.
